HAve you started thinking of your New Years resolution yet?
Mows the time to picture what you will be or what you want to be at this time next year.
Losing weight had been at the top if my lust for centuries and this year remaining healthy is there since I've shed 83 pounds.
Today I dehydrated fresh apples we got on our way home last weeks from the mountains. They are no Weight WAtcher points so a great free snack to help keep me on track. They are great to keep in your purse or a greAt snack to take to the movies instead of the high calorie popcorn. Hope this helps those wanting to lose weight or just maintain like I am doing. Happy new year.

What to buy at the day after Christmas Sales.
"After Christmas" sales this year were seen in many stores even before December 25th. We were in World Market, Palmetto Moon, and even Saks Fifth Avenue and they were offering Christmas food items and decorations at 50% off on the 23rd. Today should be a windfall as well.
We're going to venture out to see what we can find. I like to have Target on my list for Christmas Decorations but not for 3 or 4 more days. If you're looking for really great Christmas cards I find that I can usually get them for 80%-90% off if I wait a few days. Yes they will be picked through but I've found some great ones still waiting to be plucked for a couple of bucks for $13.00 cards.
New Years Day is ALWAYS a windfall for me. I shop for the next year at Dillards and the bargains are mind boggling. They have Christmas decorations that are lingering are already marked at 50% or more off and they have another 30% or so off that reduced price. You won't believe it. Last year I purchased a $400 set of Curtis Stone pans for $87.00. Unheard of. I also purchased Guy Fieri knives for 75% off. A $100 knife for $22.00. This was also the day to purchase a bathing suit. I purchased a suit that was $150 for $2.27. Yes that's what I said. Of course I got 4 of them but this is definintely the time to buy what the stores feel they need to dump.
Joanne's Fabrics has 70% off Christmas Decorations and another 30% off the 70. They had a limited supply when I was there on Monday at our store and but we were in Columbia, S.C. store and they had A LOT of things to pick from.
I would love to hear of your great finds so get out there and hunt! Today will be a great day, a Thursday when most folks have to work. Hopefully there won't be as many shoppers but be prepared.
Remember it's only a bargain if you actually need it and don't put it on a credit card that you have to pay interest on. Then it's definitely not a bargain if you're paying interest on it.

Dads new gadget the Hamilton Beach Sandwich Maker
I'm trying to cook a breakfast sandwich with my husbands Christmas gift the Hamilton beach sandwich maker. I had hoped it would make him self sufficient! I know how to fix these with the old fashion fry pan.
I guess I'll try it out and then give him the cliff notes version of Instructions.
It made a beautiful sandwich perfectly cooked. No more Jimmy Dean's Premade biscuits for my hubby.
The clean up took less than 15 seconds too so this is definitely a winner in my book.

Merry Christmas to all. Sale ads for tomorrow.
Today is all about family and friends. Enjoy the day, leave behind the shopping and present hunting unless you didn't finish yesterday and need to go to Walgreens to get that last minute gift. Good luck with that.
This morning the paper was filled with sale ads. I NEED A REST from all the shopping Hype. NO MORE SHOPPING FOR ME.
Everyone loved the handmade quilts and presents have all been unwrapped. No on to the meal and then a night at the Festival of Lights in Charleston South Carolina. What a display they have. If you're ever in the area don't miss this display.

Goldwing gone bad
I saw this at the shopping center today. I had to go over and visit with the owner. He calls this auto cycle and he built it out of a Goldwing that didn't run. He said it runs off the car engine that is under the hood of the car behind the drivers seat of the Goldwing.
I thought maybe his wife was afraid of the sidecar idea but WRONG.
The owner lives in Moncks Corner South Carolina if anyone wants one.
I have to say he must be a heck of a mechanic! Think about it. Turning a motorcycle with no engine into this and having to hook up, yes the automatic transmission so no need to even shift the bike. Well I think I may have seen it all now.
It's never too late to make something
I needed a game clocks stocking for our son in law. I had fabric so made it in 15 minutes. It's never too late.
Don't forget those that can't be with you. Use your tree to remember them
We always think of family and friends that can't be with us. Try putting their photos on your tree. It will make for great conversation and memories.
Here's our tree
Today is CRUNCH day for some!
Well it's getting down to the wire. Hope you've got all your shopping done, presents made and just need to put your feet up with a cup of tea and enjoy. I know my puppies are anxiously awaiting the presents. New beds, bones and toys. Don't forget your pets too.
Happy holidays my friends. God Bless.

This is what Christmas is about
I remember the live nativity scene that was at the funeral home in Desoto Missouri where my husband grew up. They had donkey's, calfs and miniature horses that our children would walk over with their grandparents and feed each year. They still remember this and cherish those memories as do we.
When we were in town shopping we came across what I thought was a vendor selling animals for Christmas but it was a petting zoo these folks were doing with all Gods creatures. Some of these city kids had never seen a live farm animal either. I'm sure they made a huge impact on everyone that came by.
When I saw the black and white goat I texted our daughter and told her I found my perfect gift I wanted, picture to follow.
She was anxious to finally have a specific thing I wanted and she just knew this was to end her shopping hunt for the year. Needless to say she was shocked when these came. Me holding a pot bellied pig that a four year old had to pick up for me as it squealed like crazy when i tried.
Then the picture of my black and white miniature goat. I hope I'll see ms black and white under the tree but they weren't for sale ;(

Quick seatbelt bag made from recycled seat belts. Quick to make. A couple of hours and it will last centuries
Here is a wonderful project that is quick and easy to make. You'll need to search the internet for seat belt in 2" rolls. You can usually purchase 10 yards for about $17.00
I'm from the flower child times and believe in recycling and repurposing as most of you know. You're friends will love this with a couple bottles of wine or sparkling juices. You can also fill it with cookie treats or whatever. Makes a gift that will outlast anything else you can sew.
You'll need to cut nine- 2" wide strips of webbing for the main body of the bag.
When you sew these together Fold over the top of the three center strips and sew down before you sew the sides together.
Be sure to center these on the other strips so you have the hand hold in the center.
Cut 5 strips 28 " long for the side inserts. These will be cut in half for each side.
Side pockets on each side navy blue
For the contrasting color on the side pockets you'll need to cut 5 strips 18" long. These will be cut in half and use on each side.
Lets get sewing. I have three more to make.
